I guess I should start off by introducing myself…my name is Daragh Castaneda and I am the Program Director of Pacific Fertility Center’s Egg Donor Agency. Welcome to my blog.

People often ask me what I do in my position at the egg donor agency to which I respond, “I am a matchmaker”. Not in the traditional sense, but traditional isn’t exactly how you would describe my line of work.

I would argue that most women do not choose to conceive by using an egg donor for any other reason than pure necessity. I would bet that if given the choice “the old fashioned way” of getting pregnant would seem pretty darn sexy in comparison.

I also have the privilege of working in an area that is rich in diversity and accepting of the belief that families come in all different shapes and sizes. Through my position in the agency I am given the opportunity to help build families and for that I am thankful, I am humbled, and I am very, very proud.
